We all love Rémy Martin Louis XIII, therefore I decided to make the ultimate Louis XIII post with all available video’s.

Visit two Cognac producers (online video)

Visiting the Cognac Region is a great way to learn more about Cognac, especially when you visit some Cognac distillers with their great and interactive tours…
On YouTube I found two HD movies from Remy Martin and Baron Otard, where the tour is almost completely shot. It is an easy and inexpensive way to learn much about Cognac and these brands in general!

Cognac Distillation with Hennessy (Video)

In these two beautiful video you get an idea how Cognac gets destillated.
Short introduction: after the grapes are pressed, the juice is left to ferment for two or three weeks, with the region’s native, wild yeasts converting the sugar into alcohol; neither sugar nor sulfur may be added. At this point, the resulting wine is about 7 to 8% alcohol.
Distillation takes place in traditionally shaped Charentais copper stills, also known as an alembic, the design and dimensions of which are also legally controlled. Two distillations must …
