Pierre de Segonzac introduced new designs for their Cognac-bottles, the charismatic face of the maker Pierre Ferrand (not from the brand Pierre Ferrand) is now less showy. Although we like Pierre very much, we think it is a good move to change the labels, it is just a little bit strange to look at somebody’s face when poring a snifter of Cognac.
The bottles did also change, but the great quality has remained.
Have a look at the old and new XO labels, do you think it is an improvement?

Nowadays, we think of cognac primarily as something to sip by the fireside after a nice dinner.
Yet back in the nineteenth century, when the art of cocktail as we know it first came together, one thing the both the barkeepers who created it and their eager customers would have all agreed on was that nothing made for a better mixed drink than good cognac.

I think I have a new favorite for the affordable Cognac, thats the Pierre Ferrand Ambre. This is a 100% Grande Champagne Cognac and aged on average 10 years. Unbelievable for the lowest in the range of a brand like Pierre Ferrand.
The price? Here at the wholesale this Cognac costs about 24 euros including VAT. At other off-licenses, this Cognac is almost always below 30 euros. Very well affordable!

Pierre Ferrand, world renowned for its fine 100% Grande Champagne cognacs, is introducing a special cognac to complement a superior smoke : Pierre Ferrand Cigar Blend, Reserve Havana. “We wanted a cognac that is in balance with a structured cigar.
This cognac works well because of the inherent structure of Grande Champagne cognacs”, explains Ferrand’s Jean-Dominique Andreu, an avid cigar smoker himself.
