Louis XIII

Louis XIII is the most expensive, exclusive and desirable Cognac from Rémy Martin. The prices are starting from $1.500,- to $40.000,- for a magnum of the Black Pearl edition.

Louis XIII is a blend of up to 1200 different eaux-de-vie aged between 40 and 100 years old. In the last 75 years Remy Martin has had just three maitres de chai responsible for blending the final cuvee, so the current bottling is in effect a collaboration between three generations of cellarmasters.

The current cellarmaster, Pierrette Trichet – the only female “master blender” at a major cognac firm – works with casks selected by her predecessors, and in return selects young brandies that will only be blended and bottled decades after she has retired.

Our experiences with Louis XIII in Cannes

A few weeks ago we were invited by Louis XIII to come to Cannes and the Maison Louis XIII in Cognac. Here we go about our experiences!
Yesterday (May 22, 2012) we arrived in Cannes for the Louis XIII event, we were picked up at the Nice-airport with some beautiful Audi A8L‘s! This hotel is really one of the prettiest design hotels and only a half year …

Louis XIII – All video’s

We all love Rémy Martin Louis XIII, therefore I decided to make the ultimate Louis XIII post with all available video’s.
“Louis XIII is not a Cognac,” they say at Rémy. “Put simply, it’s a moment.” Why is it a moment? Figure this: each bottle is a blend of 1,200 Cognacs, ranging from 40 to 100 years old, across three generations of Cellar Masters, resulting from the combined labor of 10,000 people.Hope you enjoy!

This Age Inconnu version is so special because it was bottled for the 1938 royal banquet at the opulent Château de Versailles that King George VI and Queen Elizabeth attended (parents of the current Queen of England).

La Fontaine de la Pouyade – Grande Champagne Cognac

La Fontaine de la Pouyade is one of the most exclusive and desirable Cognacs in the world, only a limited number of bottles are available worldwide.
This rare and exciting cognac, produced by the house Bouyer-Dubosquet is aged for more than 80 years! The German gourmet magazine (“Der Feinschmecker”) once organized a blind tasting (only experts and sommeliers took part) with high end cognac like Hennessy Richard and Rémy Martin Louis XIII and this cognac was the best!

Exclusive Cognac infused Hot Dogs

DougieDog Hot Dogs, known for its creative all-natural hotdogs, has just added the Dragon Dog to its menu.
The hotdog features a foot-long bratwurst infused with hundred-year-old Louis XIII cognac, which costs more than $2,000 a bottle. Quite crazy in our opinion…
