Louis XIII

Louis XIII is the most expensive, exclusive and desirable Cognac from Rémy Martin. The prices are starting from $1.500,- to $40.000,- for a magnum of the Black Pearl edition.

Louis XIII is a blend of up to 1200 different eaux-de-vie aged between 40 and 100 years old. In the last 75 years Remy Martin has had just three maitres de chai responsible for blending the final cuvee, so the current bottling is in effect a collaboration between three generations of cellarmasters.

The current cellarmaster, Pierrette Trichet – the only female “master blender” at a major cognac firm – works with casks selected by her predecessors, and in return selects young brandies that will only be blended and bottled decades after she has retired.

Expensive cupcake with Louis XIII Cognac

Targeting sweet-toothed high rollers, one Las Vegas bakery is selling a $750 cupcake.
The aptly named Decadence D’Or, on the menu at The Palazzo hotel’s Sweet Surrender store, is crafted out of Venezuelan chocolate, Tahitian vanilla butter cream, 100-year-old cognac and gold leaf.
Apart from the ingredients – and indeed the price – another unique feature is its fancy fleur-de-lis shape.

Rémy Martin Louis XIII Rare Cask 42,6 – Diner in Amsterdam

In June the Rémy Martin Louis XIII Rare Cask 42,6 was launched in the Netherlands, we were invited for a wonderful launch diner at the magnificent Conservatorium Hotel in Amsterdam.
In this post I’d like to show you some pictures of the evening. I will also tell something about the delicious food we had.
As a starter we got smoked! mozzarella with melon, a very special combination. Then we got a very nicely smoked salmon, scallops with bacon, lamb from Texels (a small island above the Netherlands) and a delicious dessert. …

Louis XIII Rare Cask 42,6 – New Product

At first we thought the press-release was related to the earlier introduced Louis XIII Rare Cask 43,8, however it seems the Rare Cask 42,6 is a complete new product which is great! Rémy Martin’s objective is to introduce new releases of the Louis XIII Rare Cask editions each 1-2 year.
The Louis XIII Rare Cask 42,6 will be limited to only 738 crystal carafes and will be on sale at selected travel-retail outlets in Europe, US and Singapore.

Louis XIII Bonbon – Fine Douceur

At the Rémy Martin FUTUR HERITAGE Exposition #1 we saw some Louis XIII Cognac Chocolate we couldn’t resist posting about! These beautiful chocolates with the Louis XIII carafe design and Louis XIII liquor inside are designed and devised by Melissa Duboc and Sebastian Popa. Cheers to them!
They event made some special editions of the Fine Douceur Louis XIII Bonbon, the Louis XIII Ice Bonbon, the Golden Bonbon and the Sphere Bonbon.
