Rémy buys Bruichladdich Whisky

News for some Islay Whisky lovers out here…
The Rémy Cointreau group (known by us as the parent of Rémy Martin) has agreed to acquire the Islay single malt Scotch whisky brand Bruichladdich for £58 million ($89.9m).
The Bruichladdich acquisition marks Rémy’s entry into Scotch whisky brand ownership, but we expect to see some other maybe bigger Whisky brands to follow, as Bruichladdich is quite strong in the smokey, salty and jodium rich segment but it isn’t the most easy selling mainstream premium whisky… Also some other brands give Remy some higher returns on …

Camus Ile de Ré – Fine Island Cognac

Probably one of the most eccentric Cognacs available, the Ile de Ré line of Camus Cognac.
The Ile de Ré line is so special because the grapes of the Cognacs are not from the mainland of the Cognac Region but from a small Island which is also part of the Cognac Appellation.

Camus Ile de Ré – Cliffside Cellar

The Camus Ile de Re series is a great success! Because of this success, the Ile de Ré XO is adjusted so it can better be described as a Ile de Ré Cognac.
Ile de Ré is a small island off the coast of the Cognac region, which is also a part of the Cognac region,  Cognacs from this island are because of the sea influences, saltier and more maritime than Cognacs from the mainland.  It is good to have these differences within the Cognac-region!
