Cognac Frapin has announced that the single estate Château Fontpinot has recently acquired 11% more vineyards within the Grande Champagne region bringing the total to 240 hectares.
Jean-Pierre Cointreau, CEO of Cognac Frapin said: “For many years, Cognac Frapin has been keen to enhance the size of its vineyards to meet the increasing demand for its Cognacs from global markets.

Daniel Bouju is a small grower/producer in the Grande Champagne region of Cognac. It seems that much of their Cognac isn’t available in the U.S. or is very hard to find. (Quote)

Today a reader submitted a photo of an Grande Champagne Cognac specially blended by Rémy Martin for their 250th birthday in 1974.
The production was limited to 38.709 (this is our second on CognacFans!) individually numbered and sealed bottles so this Cognac is quite exceptional today. Each bottle came with an certificate and wooden box.

A reader send us a vintage E.Piercel de Saint-Jacques Grande Fine Champagne Reserve from 1802! That should be 210 years old…
While browsing on the internet I found eight identical bottles on one Mexican website. See the Photo’s below… Based on this offering but also on the label, the content, the seal and state of preservation, this bottle do not looks like it is 210 years old…
Personally my assumption is that this bottle is a replica / fake bottle. What do you think?

A few years ago I described the François Voyer XO Gold as one of the best XO Cognacs. This XO Grand Cru is the slightly younger, about 5 years, brother of this XO Gold.
The name of Grand Cru revers to the Grande Champagne, Voyer uses for all of their Cognacs, as Grande Champagne is the Grand Cru of the Cognac region.

A reader owns a bottle of Courvoisier Special Cognac Grande Fine Champagne, this bottle is very special because it is fully made from grapes out of the Grande Champagne region, the first cru of the Cognac.
Many producers make 100% Grande Champagne Cognac, but Courvoisier does not make any 100% Grande Champagne Cognac in their regular-portfolio. Therefore this Cognac is quite special!
It is also very special because it is a limited edition, only 2460 bottles have been made!
