Cognac Fans going to Cannes and Cognac with Louis XIII

As one of the biggest Cognac information sources in the business, Cognac Fans have been invited to the Cannes Film Festival by Rémy Martin Louis XIII. Rémy Martin is official sponsor of Cannes. Following up to Cannes we will have an exclusive visit to Louis XIII’s Maison in Cognac.

Hennessy Masterclass

What ? Does Hennessy make whisky too?  No. I was in the opportunity to attend to e very exclusive master class last Friday organized by DH17 and Moët Hennessy Netherlands. Due to the tasted Cognacs this will probably a once in a life time tasting so I decided to put my notes on these cognacs.

Hennessy “9.Shoot”

In 2004 Hennessy created the 9.shoot project, an box with 9 stylish missile-like bottles of Hennessy Cognac, the bottom of these awesome bottles could be used as a Cognac Glass.
Unfortunately this project didn’t become publicly well known, so probably Hennessy decided not to produce it.
In search on the internet, I found the website of Jerome Blanchard with beautiful pictures of this special project and couldn’t resist to share it with our Cognac-Friends! Hope you like it…

World’s Largest Collection of Vintage Liquors To Be Sold for US$8 Million!

The Netherlands national Bay van der Bunt has claimed the title of owning the “world’s largest collection of old liquors”.
Sadly, however, he’s willing to relinquish the title for the price $8 million (US). The historic collection holds over 5,000 bottled liquors to include 250 years old cognac, whisky, armagnac, port, madeira and rare liqueurs.

Cognac Pairing with Chocolate

As Cognac-Experts we are constantly browsing for great combinations with our favorite drink. Yesterday after a good meal we poured in a glass of Cognac and got a bar of  Organic Panamanian 80% Chocolate. The Hine Rare Fine Champagne Cognac, which has all the hallmark: rich vanilla and spicy notes you look for in a good quality brandy.

Cloudberry cream with Bache-Gabrielsen Cognac

Cloudberry cream is the most common dessert at Christmas-time in Norway, and…. it’s made with Cognac! Enjoy!
These wild orange yellow berries only groves in the mountains in the Northern part of Scandinavia.
They have a unique flavor, and are loaded with vitamin C.
It’s traditionally used for Jam and Dessert.

Making of Cognac – Distilling

Cognac, the most noblest type of brandy, is considered to be one of the finest, if not the finest, of the spirits.
It is made from white grapes grown in the Charante region of France, and is named after the town of Cognac in the French region of Charante. Cognac is some-times called “burnt wine” (from the Dutch word brandewijn because the wine is subjected to a double heating.

Cohiba Extra Cognac from Martell

Cigar Cognacs are great Cognacs to pair with Cigars, especially the heavier ones from Cuba,  these Cognacs are somewhat spicier and stronger in taste, so they do not disappear in terms of taste when paired with a heavy aromatic cigar.
Cohiba was back in 1999 one of the first, with the idea to make a special cigar spirit. They collaborate for some time with Bisquit, but after Bisquit was bought by Martell, it decided to bring the Bisquit Cohiba under the Martell label.
