Rémy Martin XO Excellence

28 November 2009 6 Comments

Rémy Martin XO ExcellenceRémy Martin XO Excellence has an global reputation for its rich flavor and great harmony, with a rich bouquet of flowers.
This XO is composed of 85% Grande Champagne and 15% of Petite Champagne, the blend contains Cognacs between 10 and 37 years old.

The Rémy Martin XO Excellence comes in a beautiful carafe with a heavy stopper, as we like them most!

Although, I often recommend people to look around for buying a bottle of XO cognac. This XO is definitely not bad but you pay an extra for the brand name. (+ €$40, -)

The tasting notes of the Remy Martin XO Excellence are:

The color: fiery mahogany brown.
The fragrance: spicy, fruity and floral.
The taste: soft in the mouth, perhaps too soft. Also a hint of herbs, fruits and flowers.
The after-taste: average time for an XO.
The origin: 85% 15% Grande Champagne and Petite Champagne.
The age: 10 to 37 years.
The price: 110-120 dollars.
The price / quality ratio: a 7!
