Readers Question: Metal Cognac caps, how old?

I received a question from a reader where he asked about the age of two old metal cognac caps, the caps they are using to seal the cork. Unfortunately I am not able to give him the answer, hopefully anyone else can help him with the question.

I found while metal detecting these old caps with cognac written on them and wonder if you could tell me the age or year of manufacture.
