Pierre Ferrand Cigare Cognac

17 December 2009 2 Comments

Pierre-Ferrand-Cigare-CognacPierre Ferrand, world renowned for its fine 100% Grande Champagne cognacs, is introducing a special cognac to complement a superior smoke : Pierre Ferrand Cigar Blend, Reserve Havana. “We wanted a cognac that is in balance with a structured cigar.

This cognac works well because of the inherent structure of Grande Champagne cognacs”, explains Ferrand’s Jean-Dominique Andreu, an avid cigar smoker himself.
For six years, they have been the sole cognac suppliers to the prestigious Club des Parlermentaires Amateurs de Havane, which counts among its members France’s top politicians.

In terms of sharpness, I would say it’s comparable to a VSOP Cognac, but the taste is as complex and good as a long aged XO Cognac.

The tasting notes of the Pierre Ferrand Cigare Cognac are:

The color: fairly light brown caramel color.
The fragrance: dried flowers, cedar, spices and smoky black tea (Lapsang Soesang).
The taste: full of flavor and quite spicy with notes of leather, wood, vanilla and tobacco.
The after-taste: the taste stays very long in the mouth hanging.
The origin: 100% Grande Champagne.
The age: 25 years old on average.
The Price: $ 75 on the Internet.
The price / quality ratio: a 7.
