Meukow Xpresso – Liqueur Cafe and Cognac Review

10 March 2013 2 Comments

Meukow Xpresso - Liqueur Cafe and CognacSome months ago we reported about the Meukow Xpresso, a liqueur made of Meukow VS Cognac and natural coffee aromas. Now we are able to tell you our opinion about this drink.

In contrast to the normal Meukow Cognacs this liqueur is bottled at 22% abv, which is much less than the 40% minimum of Cognac.

The tasting notes of the Meukow Xpresso liqueur are:

The color: very dark brown, like Coca-Cola…
The fragrance: exotic flavours of deeply roasted coffee beans matched with the smooth and elegant Cognac notes of liquorice and nutmeg. Some hints of Irish coffee…
The taste: rather soft coffee start, sweetness of brown sugar and liquorice. A little enjoyable bitterness in the end.
The age: the Cognac used for this liqueur must be aged for a minimum of 2 years.
Price: $30,- per bottle of 500 ml.
The price / quality ratio: an 7,5. Very nice combination of Cognac and coffee for those who like sweet liqueurs.

I bought a bottle when i was in Turkey and i think it is lovely. I do not like cognac but with the coffee it is so smooth and easy to drink.
