Courvoisier XO Imperial
Courvoisier XO Imperial is a very aromatic cognac with orange, vanilla and Creme Brulee.
Compared with the Remy Martin XO this cognac is slightly less complex, this cognac is less earthy and masculine in comparison to the taste of the Hennessy XO. The Courvoisier XO, is a good average between the two.
The best part is that this Courvoisier XO is available in many online liquor stores for about 50 euros!
The Courvoisier XO is in a beautiful flat bottle that looks like an upside-down grape leaf.
In 1994, this cognac named the “Best Cognac in the World” at the International Wine & Spirits competition. The Courvoisier XO is a blend of very old Borderies, Petit Champagne and Grande Champagne Cognac.
The tasting notes of the Courvoisier XO Imperial are:
The color: darker than most XO’s, slightly caramel-like color.
The fragrance: flowers, but soon develops a nice balanced bouquet of vanilla, nutmeg, orange and even cocoa.
The taste: orange, vanilla and Creme Brulee. Less sweet, but slightly stronger than the taste of Remy Martin XO.
The after-taste: long finish that is full of flavor.
The origin: Borderies, Grande Champagne and Petit
The age: 20 to 35 years old.
The price: 50 to 100 euros.

One of the best XO’s of the big 4 cognac makers. It has a good taste and perfect price/quality ratio!
[...] Napoleon differs from the Courvoisier XO, because it uses Fine Champagne Cognacs, which means that at least 50% of the cognac comes from the [...]
My favourite XO cognac, definitely sits in the sweet spot between Remy Martin and Hennessy.
