Courvoisier VS

2 April 2010 6 Comments

The Courvoisier VS is a great cognac, a little sharp, but very soft en fruity. With this Courvoisier you get great value for money.
This Courvoisier is in my opinion the best VS quality Cognac of the big 4 cognac brands (Courvoisier, Hennessy, Martell and Rémy Martin)!

The true character of a cognac can be found in the care one takes to bring it to maturity. Courvoisier VS is no exception. A cognac can be labeled VS only after it has been aged 2,5 years Courvoisier VS is matured 4 to 7 years.

The tasting notes of Courvoisier VS:

The color: gold, amber light.
The fragrance: fruity, slightly sweet, young oak and smell of alcohol.
The taste: a little spicy at first, but soon after soft palate with sweet, fruity and floral tones. By using new oak barrels, there is a strong woody flavor perceptible.
The after-taste: short, intense, sharp and very powerful.
The origin: mainly Finnish but also Bois Grande Champagne, Petite Champagne and Borderies.
Age: 4-7 years old.
The price: about 25 dollars.
