Remy Martin VSOP Cannes Edition 2013

Rémy Cointreau has lined up the launch of a limited edition bottling of its Rémy Martin VSOP Cognac, to commemorate the Cannes Film Festival, one of the best festivals and a beautiful place. The bottle, which features the festival’s golden palm motif, will be available in the run-up to the festival, which started on 15 May.

Hine Cognac is for sale

Breaking news, it is just announced that Hine Cognac is put on the market by Hine’s owner, CL World Brands. The managing director Francois Le Grelle of Hine has confirmed to Harpers that the Cognac house is up for sale.
For now the managing director is unable to release any more information, the meetings are yet to be had with potential buyers.

FRAPIN acquires more Grande Champagne vineyards

Cognac Frapin has announced that the single estate Château Fontpinot has recently acquired 11% more vineyards within the Grande Champagne region bringing the total to 240 hectares.
Jean-Pierre Cointreau, CEO of Cognac Frapin said: “For many years, Cognac Frapin has been keen to enhance the size of its vineyards to meet the increasing demand for its Cognacs from global markets.

Louis XIII Rare Cask 42,6 – New Product

At first we thought the press-release was related to the earlier introduced Louis XIII Rare Cask 43,8, however it seems the Rare Cask 42,6 is a complete new product which is great! Rémy Martin’s objective is to introduce new releases of the Louis XIII Rare Cask editions each 1-2 year.
The Louis XIII Rare Cask 42,6 will be limited to only 738 crystal carafes and will be on sale at selected travel-retail outlets in Europe, US and Singapore.

Camus Borderies VSOP – Limited Release

Camus brought out a 100% Borderies VSOP Cognac, this Cognac is limited to 15,000 individually-numbered bottles and is quite attractively priced at or around $50 a bottle.
The bottle has a distinctive white label and elongated white cap, which tells this bottle is something special.

QUEEN’S 1952 Cognac highlights auction

A bottle of Hine Grande Champagne Cognac from 1952 is among several lots of exceptional cognac to feature in Bonhams Fine & Rare Wines sale on 14th February at New Bond Street, London.
Accompanied by a bottle of Hine Grande Champagne from 1904, the two bottles are estimated to sell for at least £400 – 500. A parcel of 1952 vintage was set aside in the producer’s personal reserves to commemorate the accession to the throne of Queen Elizabeth II.

Grönstedts Noël 2012 XO – Christmas Cognac

It is the seventh consecutive year that Grönstedts makes a special Christmas-Cognac which is called Grönstedts Noël 2012 XO.
Like the other years this Cognac has been made of the regular Grönstedts XO, but also with parts of last year’s Noël and some other eaux-de-vie.
Basically it is a blend of cognacs with an average age of 30 years, mainly from the Grand Champagne and Petit Champagne districts, but also some Borderies.
