Camus Borderies VSOP – Limited Release

3 March 2013 One Comment

camus vsop borderiesCamus brought out a 100% Borderies VSOP Cognac, this Cognac is limited to 15,000 individually-numbered bottles and is quite attractively priced at or around $50 a bottle.

The bottle has a distinctive white label and elongated white cap, which tells this bottle is something special.

This Camus is a single vineyard cognac, a rarity in a region that champions the art of the blend.

Also, this Cognac is made from 100% Borderies, smallest of the six Cognac Cru’s, avidly sought as a blending agent for other producers, prized for its rapid ageability, delicate florality, and honey-rich roundness derived from the heavy clay component of the soils.

Camus Borderies VSOP LIMITED EDITION underwent a period of careful and closely-watched ageing in a dry cellar, then in progressively damper cellars, in order to preserve all the finesse and aromatic expression of the Borderies.

The House of Camus is the only major cognac house situated in the Borderies, and it possess or has access to some of the best eaux-de-vie produced in Borderies; as such, the house is best suited to championing the virtues of Borderies, as they do with this VSOP.

Camus Borderies X.O. is probably one of the most well-known Borderies eaux-de-vie. The house decided to produce the Limited Release Borderies V.S.O.P. to showcase the particular essence of the AOC with slightly less maturation and a markedly lower cost so people would have the opportunity to sample and enjoy.
