Bernard Boutinet VSOP

18 June 2010 No Comment

Bernard Boutinet is a creator of Cognac, with only three permanent employees. His vineyard of 27 hectares is located in the Fins Bois region, just over the border of the Borderies.
The Bernard Boutinet VSOP also comes from the Fins Bois. Although I often appreciate Fins Bois Cognacs less than Cognacs from the Grande Champagne, Petite Champagne or Borderies region, this Cognac is quite nice for a Fins Bois Cognac. The aroma’s are full and floral with a pleasant aftertaste.

The tasting notes of the Bernard Boutinet VSOP are:

The color: light gold.
The fragrance: soft, floral notes of spring, like a fruity mango, vanilla, some wood.
The taste: sharp but round and fruity, like juniper and vanilla. Typical Fins Bois taste to recognize. Also very little wood.
The after-taste: short but pleasant flavor.
The origin: 100% Fins Bois.
Age: 7 years old.
The price: about 40 dollars.
The price / quality ratio: a 7.
